West Edmonton Communities

Although Edmonton celebrated its 100th birthday in 2004, its roots as a European settlement go back over 200 years.

The completion of the Calgary – Edmonton railway in 1891 sparked the growth for this city. In 1905 when Alberta officially became a province of Canada, Edmonton was declared the provincial capital. In the beginning, Edmonton was mainly used as a major transportation route because of the completion of the Canadian National Railway. Edmonton has since then become a booming city home to an international airport, University of Alberta, and West Edmonton Mall, which is one of the largest shopping centres in America.

I do a fair amount of work in the West Edmonton area and because of this I have information about the 5 different zones that make up West Edmonton here for you to read.

Zone 10 is made up of these communities:

Crestwood, Parkview, and Laurier Heights
